The ProjectThe Lindsey Wilson College (LWC) was founded in 1903 as Lindsey Wilson Training School, and today is a liberal arts college that is distinguished for being one of the best undergraduate teaching colleges in the nation. In fact, LWC is one of only 223 (or 6%) of U.S. colleges and universities that the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has classified as a Baccalaureate-Liberal Arts College. Located in non-metropolitan Adair County, Kentucky, LWC serves the educational needs of students by providing a living-learning environment within an atmosphere of active caring and Christian concern. Since 1999, LWC’s student body has grown by more than 1,000 students, the faculty capacity has more than doubled and the size of the AP White Campus has increased from 47 acres to more than 200 acres, creating the need for dramatic infrastructure transformations. Supporting this expansion, the NMTC investment serves over 2,600 students, of which 93% receive some kind of need-based financial aid. Health & Wellness CenterThe NMTC investment funded the 73,000 square foot Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center, which serves the LWC community and the citizens of south central Kentucky. The facility, which provides a plethora of fitness, recreational and educational opportunities, includes an eight-lane swimming pool, two recreational courts, a multi-purpose area, an indoor track, cardio room, exercise studio, weight room and one racquetball court. Lindsey Wilson Sports ParkThe Sports Park is located on 20+ acres within a mile of the LWC campus. The complex includes a 12,400 square foot field house, a synthetic turf athletic field, an outdoor track, a baseball field and a softball field. As a benefit to community residents, the Sports Park provides the LWC coaching staff with a venue to host youth summer camps and sports clinics. |

“This is the most remarkable day in my 25 years at Lindsey Wilson College. This is a bold initiative for this college to take, but it’s clearly the right thing to do because it’s an opportunity to expand the Lindsey Wilson mission to students who otherwise would not attend this college and launch this college forward.”
— William T. Luckey Jr. | President, Lindsey Wilson College
