We’ve been evolving to serve you better.

  • Established

    Cherry Bekaert was founded in 1947 by Harry W. Cherry in Wilmington, North Carolina, and was joined by Charles Bekaert in 1950 and William Holland in 1953, forming Cherry Bekaert & Holland LLP. The Firm moved to Richmond, Virginia, in 1988, establishing headquarters in 1991.

  • Rebranded

    In 2013, Cherry Bekaert & Holland LLP launched a strategic rebranding initiative under the new name of Cherry Bekaert LLP. As part of the rebranding, the Firm introduced our current tagline, "Your Guide Forward." This rebranding marked a turning point for the Firm and positioned us for growth to better serve our clients.

  • Strategic Partnership

    In 2022, Cherry Bekaert announced Parthenon Capital’s investment in the Firm’s business advisory practices. Cherry Bekaert is our overall brand name. Cherry Bekaert LLP, a licensed CPA firm, provides attest services, and Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC provides business advisory and non-attest services.

  • Growth & Acquisitions

    In 2024, Cherry Bekaert ranked 1st as the “Fastest Growing Firms in the U.S. 2024” by Accounting Today. The prestigious list recognizes the top accounting practices with the highest revenue growth in percentage terms in 2023.
